Gang of Four é uma banda com influências do forte punk dos anos 80, o post punk que ainda estava por vir e um funk como dos Beastie Boys. As letras são críticas em relação a ecônomia, política e ao padrão do modo de subexistência em geral. O som é tranquilamente audível aos apreciadores de The Smiths, Joy Division, Minutemen, Fugazi.
